Boucle infinie, NFT (fichier numérique H264.mp4)

Hand-Hacked Bouquet 1 explores the online gaming industry from the perspective of copyright, value and ownership. The artist has selected a set of video games from the 1980s onwards, developed by various international gaming industries. She views the virtual space of these games as a single open field, a garden without walls where flowers are free to be picked. Each flower is selected based on its symbolic, cultural and economic value within the game from which it is taken – values that sometimes extend beyond the game itself into the “real” economy market. Once picked or extracted, these flowers (with hugely varying resolutions and graphic rendering) are treated as ready-made to be compiled into unique digital bouquets, exhibited and sold as NFTs. This work is one of a series of offerings demonstrating some modern artists’conceptual investment in NFTs, with a critical look at the world of dematerialised finance and the privatisation of the internet.
